Bursaries & Funding

Bursaries & Funding

We remove the cost barrier that stops talented professionals from learning, connecting and growing — funding congress attendance, courses and travel for those who need it most.

What we fund

Opening doors that cost would otherwise close

For many trainees and early-career professionals, the biggest barrier to development isn’t ability — it’s cost. Conference fees, travel and course expenses add up quickly, and not everyone has an employer to cover them. Our bursaries exist to level that playing field, so the next generation of the radiology and oncology professions can access the opportunities that shape a career.

Bursary story
In their words

A first congress, a lasting network

When [ Name ], a first-year radiography trainee, was offered a place to present at the UKIO Congress, the travel and accommodation costs alone put it out of reach. A ROC bursary changed that.

Over three days they presented their work, met researchers whose papers they’d studied, and left with a network of mentors and peers that continues to shape their career today.

“The bursary didn’t just get me to a conference — it opened a door I didn’t know how to open myself. Placeholder quote to be replaced with a real recipient’s words.”
