we support the education and development of all professionals in clinical imaging and radiotherapy & oncology by funding bursaries, research and outreach that improve patient care across the UK and internationally.
ROC was founded in partnership by The British Institute of Radiology (BIR), The Institute of Physics & Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) and The College of Radiographers (CoR). ROC brings together these professional groups to share knowledge, develop clinical services and improve patient care with research and education at its heart.
Welcome to Radiology & Oncology Congresses (ROC).
ROC exists to support the people and ideas that shape the future of clinical imaging and radiotherapy & oncology. We believe that investing in education, research and professional development is fundamental to improving patient care, both across the UK and internationally.
Through our bursaries, research funding and outreach programmes, including our flagship congress UKIO, ROC helps provide opportunities for professionals at every stage of their careers to learn, collaborate and develop. We are particularly committed to supporting innovation and enabling the next generation of clinicians, scientists, technologists and other healthcare professionals to contribute to the future of our disciplines.
By working across professional boundaries, we can foster collaboration, share knowledge and support advances that benefit patients and the services that care for them.
I invite you to explore our work, discover the opportunities we support and join us in investing in the future of clinical imaging and radiotherapy & oncology.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our work.”

Chair, Radiology & Oncology Congresses (ROC)
Our work falls into three areas, each designed to strengthen the radiology and oncology professions and, ultimately, improve care for patients.
We help trainees and early-career professionals attend congresses and courses they could not otherwise reach, opening doors to learning and mentorship.
We fund and champion research that advances imaging and cancer care, helping promising ideas move from the bench towards the bedside.
We extend our reach to communities and colleagues who benefit most, sharing knowledge and raising awareness across the wider public.
As a registered charity, we are committed to using our funds responsibly and openly. Our trustees ensure every activity delivers genuine public benefit — and we report on the difference your support makes.

Core areas of charitable work
ROC is the charity behind UKIO — the UK Imaging & Oncology Congress. The congress brings the professions together each year, and the proceeds help fund the charitable work you’ve read about here. ROC develops the strategy for UKIO and appoints the President to curate the congress content.
Planning to attend, exhibit or present? Everything about the congress lives on the UKIO website.
You’ll be taken to the separate UKIO congress website.
